Give me that rusted gate, the crumbling stone, this cloth, tattered and frayed.
Give me the hidden path through overgrown green, where my mind, and my fortune, are made.

Gardening With The Babies
Our little girls have a sprawling container garden out on the front porch that they tend all by themselves. It's doing surprisingly well. They obviously have more of a green thumb than me because every plant I've ever had, well, let's just say they all disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
Mae says I should tell you that these are her onions.
Chloe is growing this cilantro just for me, since I'm the only one in the house who likes cilantro. I had some with my tacos Saturday night, and let me just say, it was superb. Our children are clearly gardening prodigies.
And here we see a tiny pot of chives as yet unclaimed. They're going flowers too: moonflower, red hollyhock, sweet william, columbine, and something else who's name is escaping me right now. Which is strange, since I helped them plant the seeds.

Yep, We're Open!
Well, here we are: Day One of Country Gothic. Mike and I have been hard at work in the hot summer sun, photographing unwieldy tool shed implements and sorting through old trinkets and books. Here's a sneak preview of some of the stuff that will make its way into the shop today and tomorrow. Oh, and don't forget to follow us on Twitter so you can get to the minute updates of our adventures and as we add to the shop. Thanks for stopping by!
